How it works
Making it simple for you
Interviews
A vital and enjoyable part of the process, conducted either in person or remotely, usually in 2 hour blocks. During this dedicated one-to-one time with writer Stef you'll be guided through exploring and expressing your thoughts and memories ... so she can start to piece together your story.
The interviews aren't simply about taking down what you say, or even a Q&A: as an experienced writer Stef always has an eye towards your vision for your final book, and will be guiding you towards it with her prompts and questions.
Within two weeks of the final interview Stef will supply you with an overview plan of your book, organised into chapters.
Stef will take time with you to check that all the important information, themes, people and events have been included, and are in the correct place. Of course, anything that isn't 100% correct will be changed: you just communicate your required amendments to Stef and she will send you an updated version.
Once this has been done Stef will create a sample of your book, usually the first 10% of words, so you can confirm you are happy with the style (or 'voice') in which your book will be written.

Manuscript and amendments
Using the agreed outline as a framework, Stef will create your full manuscript.
This will be supplied to you within 6 weeks of the sample writing being approved.
Once you have the full manuscript you can take time to read it through thoroughly before letting Stef know of any changes you would like to make. Once these have been made you have the option to return one more set of amendments before signing off the final, agreed manuscript.
Now you're happy with the text you can decide on which pictures - usually photographs - you'd like to illustrate your book, as well as the front cover. These will be placed on the agreed pages, then the final draft will be sent to you for approval or amendments.
Once this final draft of the book is agreed upon your book will be sent to print!
A few weeks later you'll have copies of your hardback book in your hand, which you can pass on to loved ones - or sell, if that's your aim.
